AIM Uganda, formerly Rakai Orphans Development Initiatives (RODI), is a grassroots organization operating in Southern Uganda in the Kyotera and Rakai Districts. This area of Uganda is ground zero of AIDS. Since the disease was discovered in 1982, more than a million people have died, leaving behind more than 1.2 million orphans. In Uganda, HIV/AIDS has significantly reduced life expectancy, depleted the labor force and reduced food security. Many children are being raised by elderly relatives and these children often have no choice but to work as laborers, rather than attend school. Many communities are trapped in cycles of poverty and disease. The goal of AIM is to transform the lives of these young people and their communities.
Our programs are designed to cause a positive change on both the child and the entire environment with which children interact every day. It is almost impossible to think of changing a life of a child without changing the environment in which they live.
Use your talents and time to free children out of poverty and disease in Rakai,Uganda.

We believe that access to quality education is the key to helping children break out of poverty. For that reason, educational child sponsorship is the heart of our ministry. More than 500 children’s lives are being transformed through AIM’s Sponsorship Program. You can change the world for a child for just $38 per month. Their sponsorship means they can attend school consistently and are equipped with the materials and support needed to succeed. By sponsoring a child, you help to break the cycle of poverty in Uganda. You empower a child to utilize their full potential.
Perhaps you already sponsor a child and know the joy arising from helping underprivileged children to find love, encouragement and hope for their future. You may also be involved with another organization and your current budget may not allow you to stretch further. All is normal but here is something else you may consider doing:
